Week 6 (8/5-8/9)

Travel to different regions and investigate natural disasters around the world. Learn how people detect and prepare for disasters. Dive into the geological history of the region to find insights and past traces of natural adverse event. We will simulate the effects of natural disaster and discover alternative solutions to combat these disastrous global hazards. While we can’t stop natural disasters from happening, we can try to minimize their impact. As we try to engineer our way through these challenges, we will explore various forms of chemical reactions. Students will work hands-on in testing theories by combining materials and observing the reactions. They will explore different forms of chemicals and gain new insights into different compounds. Students will explore new scientific terms, expand their vocabulary and knowledge of the world around them.
